Study 1: REDEFINE

Status: Currently Recruiting

This clinical trial is evaluating treatment approaches in patients recently hospitalized for heart failure. If you’ve been admitted or discharged within the past 10 days, you may be eligible.

Inclusion Criteria

You may qualify for this study if all of the following apply:

  1. You are 18 years or older.
  2. You are currently hospitalized or were recently discharged (within the past 30 days) for acute heart failure.
  3. You had heart failure symptoms at the time of admission, such as:
    • Trouble breathing (especially at rest or with minimal activity)
    • Worsening shortness of breath when lying down
    • You show signs of fluid buildup (e.g., swelling, lung congestion, crackles in the lungs, or elevated neck veins).
  4. Your heart function shows a preserved or mildly reduced ejection fraction (≥40%), based on recent imaging (within the hospital stay or within the past 12 months if no recent change in condition).
  5. Your blood tests show elevated BNP or NT-proBNP levels, which indicate heart failure, based on your heart rhythm and the recent timing of the test.
  6. You are considered clinically stable if randomized during hospitalization, meaning:
    • Blood pressure is ≥100 mmHg without low blood pressure symptoms
    • No recent increase in IV diuretics
    • No recent use of IV vasodilators or inotropes
    • No mechanical heart support in the last 24 hours.
  7. You were treated with at least one dose of IV loop diuretics (like Lasix) during this hospital stay.
  8. If you are a woman of childbearing potential:
    • You must have a negative pregnancy test
    • You agree to use effective contraception throughout the study.

Study 2: CONFIRMATION

Status: Currently Recruiting

This clinical trial is evaluating treatment approaches in patients recently hospitalized for heart failure. If you’ve been admitted or discharged within the last 10 days, you may be eligible.

Inclusion Criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if all of the following apply:

  1. You are 18 years or older.
  2. You are currently hospitalized or were recently discharged (within the last 10 days) for heart failure (HF).
  3. You experienced HF symptoms such as shortness of breath at rest or while active, or trouble breathing when lying down.
  4. You show signs of fluid buildup, such as chest congestion, leg swelling, or elevated neck veins.
  5. Your lab results show elevated heart failure markers (BNP or NT-proBNP) based on your heart rhythm.
  6. Your condition has stabilized (no IV drugs or mechanical support recently, and stable blood pressure).
  7. You were treated with at least one dose of IV diuretics (like Lasix or Bumex) during your hospital stay.
  8. If you are a woman of childbearing potential:
    • You must have a negative pregnancy test
    • You agree to use effective contraception throughout the study.

Study 3: Heart Health Study

Status: Currently Recruiting

We’re conducting a Phase III clinical trial to evaluate a new medication to reduce the risk of heart failure and cardiovascular death in individuals at high risk.
